Roof Inspections and Houston Roof Repair

We all know the importance of preventative maintenance. Whether it’s regular check-ups with our primary care physician or scheduled oil changes for our car, a little preventative maintenance can fix small problems early on before they become much bigger issues. The same is true with your roof. The National Roofing Contractors Association recommends a yearly check of your roof in order to spot tell tale signs of trouble. But we are all busy and often the first we learn of a roofing problem is when the issue manifests itself as a leak in a ceiling or some other indication of trouble. When we inspected the flat roof pictured here we found problems that had occurred after years of neglect and poor maintenance. Flat Roof before

The roof had deteriorated because shoddy contractors had “patched” over problems, installing incomplete roofing systems over problematic areas. As a result water on the roof of this Houston townhome was ponding and causing many severe leaks within the internal structure. We removed the defective systems, and installed a complete modified bitumen hot mopped roof with positive drainage. A proper inspection earlier on would have identified these issues before the owners experienced the headaches of many leaks and interior damage.

So inspect your roof once a year, or better yet call a trusted roofing contractor with the proper credentials in Houston roof repair. You’ll avoid these severe roofing problems, save money and enjoy carefree living in your home.
